By-the-way...

Our Homestudy went great!

Things were a little stressful for me a few days before hand.
Marc worked very hard finishing up some little details around the house.

This was the night before she came...

I was a wreck!
But it all was cleaned up and beautiful by the time she arrived the next morning.

He knows what he's doing!

Spackle here...spackle there...

So this is the infamous "black line" that I've stared at for about five years now...

going...

gone!  And it's beautiful!

Finishing touches in Caroline's room...
(yes I repainted.... there were a number of reasons, but mostly
because of the glowing pink aurora left in your eyeballs when you left the room.)

(and because red accents were so out of place...
but I am planning to repaint the cherry blossoms on the walls.)

New Lanterns!

How Divine...

(Right Candace Olsen?)
*sigh* oh I wish I could watch HGTV at my house!

And...... it starts.

The wonderful smell of spices baking,

The messy mess,

The experimentations,

The blaring Christmas music from Pandora
to get me in the Spirit.
Oh, that's so hard in October.

Has finally begun!
I can't tell you what it is yet.
Someone may steal my idea (twitchy eyes)...

but

There's only three weekends left
~so~

No pressure!!!

Here's a recap from last year
with additional footage...

Notice my face when I'm driving.
I'm pretty sure I cried most of the way up the mountain!
I was so afraid that it would fall apart!

Quiet

Our Homestudy visit is tomorrow....

that's why I'm so quiet...

you know......

I'm freaking out!

How often does one have a person come to their house to evaluate their ability to have a child?

Yikes!

I must go sweep my ceiling, and scrub the top of my fridge, be-gone dust bunnies and spiderwebs.... and no kitty fur on the beds!

It's gonna be a long night.

pblachk.....

Wow. How many candy corns did I mindlessly just eat?
blachkkk!

Parade of Tables...

Our church has had a fundraiser event called the Parade of Tables for the last few years.
It's a fun get together where certain people decorate tables, and then sell tickets to people
for a lovely dinner, festivities, and fellowship.

My lovely mama has decorated a table since this event started, but this year she said
she was having a hard time coming up with an idea until...
"China Doll"
came to mind.
(She's pretty excited about her new granddaughter, I gotta tell ya!)

So off and running she went with this idea. With my sister helping, they searched high and low, in and out, up and down all the stores they could think of to find all things Chinese-y.  ;)

All the while, I was grinning from ear to ear at the excitement of their subject.
So without further ado......

Ta daaaaa!

My sister insisted upon hanging the lanterns!
She hung off the ladder all by herself.
I was so impressed!

Chopsticks, lucky bamboo, sake cups,  and cheesecake.
Wait... what?

Isn't it funny to see pictures of your animated self?  Do I always gesture so?

My dad felt more at home in the kitchen helping out.
He's a food man at heart.

Now I know origami is Japanese but...... it was cute.
And I think I've been spelling it Oragami for far too long.
Spell check is my nemesis;  It totally makes fun of me!

My mom received a chopstick lesson from my husband.
But Laney disregarded said lesson.

Don't I look like a glowing expectant mommy?
( Complete with my Jade earrings in the shape of a lotus flower for good luck?)

My grandmother has been a doll collector since way back.
I grew up playing with (i.e. sneaking) her dolls.
I always remember how striking the asian dolls were.
They were always my favorite. Hmm.

She was my favorite because her hair is so soft and silky, and when you move her,
her hair tendrils flow in the wind.

I grew up with China dolls.
I'm so lucky!
